Robot vacuums and mops are getting more powerful. They pass our tests on cleaning and are able to handle different floors. Select models that allow users to select between different types, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
When I tested the S1, it was quick to locate the downstairs area, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls and even over raised thresholds without any problems. However it had some issues getting down the stairs in one go. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on its flat side against the floor and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or carpet.
After every mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and fills up its water tank with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working efficiently. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to avoid it becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting blocked by dust or dirt. But, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs' all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is an effective solution for cleaning. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction and offers a number of innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstructions and cleans furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of just drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station when required.
The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks that are automatically emptied or filled. It also comes with a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes all kinds of debris, including the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it could get stuck on small area mats and rugs around my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). The mopping capabilities are quite good as well, with two spinning mop heads that actually lift and scrub the floors instead of just dragging the pad over it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation whenever needed. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and fine particles from both hard floors and carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation system is nimble that can navigate tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without stepping back. It can move from one room to another without changing direction it is a useful feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large space over obstacles. This can lead to missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and streamlined. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app lets you plan and manage cleanings, change mopping and suction power settings as well as view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. best robot vacuum cleaner can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to monitor its progress from any location. This is especially important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network, and is compatible with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your daily cleaning routine.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, such as the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but it saves cost by eliminating mopping and using a cheaper plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to clean your floors, the Q5 still has some of the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic in this price range. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa, and an automatic empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleanings and determine the floor type. It also comes with an automatic water tank filling and washing system that is hands-free.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power to tackle dirt, dust, and pet hair on both hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested did not show a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it could not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising because it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also has an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach corners and tight places that other vacuums cannot. This device also collects dust in a bigger dustbin which means you have to empty it less often. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters, which reduces the expenses associated with using the device. The robot is able to detect carpets, and increase suction if necessary. You can also mark off areas you want to be able to keep from using the app.
